Outfitter Learn · Leads and follow-up · Question

How does the $1,500-a-month zone plan work?

The short answer

The zone plan is $1,500 a month per zone, all in. $1,150 goes straight into your ads on Meta at cost. The other $350 runs Emma, the estimates, the lead routing and your dashboard. A zone is a slice of a metro with about 300,000 people, and only one contractor per trade can hold it.

Who it’s for: Contractors who want leads nobody else in their trade gets, with a price range from their own rates attached.

What happens when you claim a zone

  1. You enter your trade and your shop’s address. You see your metro cut into zones, and which are open.
  2. You claim one or more zones. It’s charged that day, then monthly on the same day.
  3. We confirm how far you’ll drive, your rate card or the trade default, and where leads should go. Ads start within 3 business days of setup.
  4. Every lead in your zone arrives with its estimate, texted to you the moment it’s ready.
  5. Your dashboard shows what you spent and what it brought in.

Why zones instead of a radius

A 30-mile circle is all of Des Moines and a sliver of Los Angeles. A zone is about 300,000 people wherever you are, so a dollar buys the same amount of market in both places. And nobody can lock up a whole metro by buying one seat.

What it costs

$1,500 per zone, per month: $1,150 to your ads on Meta at cost, plus $350 to Outfitter. One charge, two lines on the receipt. Free to sign up; you pay when you claim a zone.

What it won’t do

An example

The first roofer in a city gets the whole city. Until a second roofer claims a zone there, the leads in that city keep coming to the first.

Common questions

Is there a contract?
No. It's month to month from day one. Cancel any time and your ads run to the end of the paid month.
How is this different from Angi or Thumbtack?
They sell the same homeowner to four or five contractors. Here a zone belongs to one contractor per trade, and the homeowner already saw a price built from your rates.
What happens when I'm booked out?
Tell us and we throttle or pause your territory. Your leads don't go anywhere else, so it's on us not to send more than you can handle.
Can I pause for the winter?
Not yet. For now, drop to one zone or cancel and come back; your zones are held 30 days after a cancel.
Do you take a cut of my jobs?
No. Our fee is a percentage of the ad spend, said out loud. What you sell and what you make on it is yours.
