Outfitter Learn · Front Desk · Question

Can Front Desk answer in my own voice?

The short answer

Yes. You read a 90-second script, written for your trade, into your browser, and Front Desk answers in your own voice. It still tells every caller it’s your AI assistant, and voice cloning is in beta, so ask us to turn it on.

Who it’s for: Owners whose customers know their voice and want to hear it when they call.

What happens when you record your voice

  1. In your workspace you read a short script out loud. It covers your greeting, the lines Front Desk says most, and your trade’s words.

  2. You tick a box confirming it’s your voice.

  3. About twenty seconds later, your greeting plays back in the new voice. Sounds like you? Keep it. Doesn’t? Record again.

  4. Every call from then on is answered in your voice, starting with “this is your AI assistant.”

What it costs

Recording your voice costs nothing extra. Calls are 35¢ a minute from your tokens, whichever voice answers.

What it won’t do

An example

A basement finisher records the script on a Sunday night. Because the script carries his trade’s words, “egress” and “sump” come out the way he says them. Monday, his regular customers hear a familiar voice that says up front it’s his AI assistant.

Common questions

How long is the recording?
About 90 seconds. You read a script written for your trade into your browser's microphone.
Will callers think it's really me?
No. The greeting says it's your AI assistant on every call. Callers hear your voice, but they know who's talking.
Can I upload an old recording instead?
No. We only clone a recording you make yourself on our page, with a checkbox confirming it's your voice.
What if I don't want to use my voice?
Pick from a shelf of natural voices instead. You can switch any time, and delete your recording whenever you ask.
