What is a lead engine?
A lead engine is a marketing channel that produces new customer leads on a steady, repeatable basis, not in one-off bursts. For a contractor, that might be local ads, a Google profile that ranks on the map, or neighborhood postcards. Each engine works on its own; several together cover a whole town.
Who it’s for: Contractors who are tired of feast-or-famine months and want leads that keep coming.
What a lead engine does
- It reaches homeowners where they already are: scrolling Facebook, searching Google Maps, opening the mailbox.
- The ones who want a quote reach out, and the lead lands with you.
How Outfitter does it
Outfitter’s marketing is built as lead engines, run for you by Emma. Each one reaches homeowners where they already are. Think of a virtual yard sign on Facebook, your Google profile climbing the map, or postcards to streets you pick. Ads inside ChatGPT are coming in November.
You never touch an ad account. Every lead reaches you the moment it comes in, with a name, phone and email, and everything shows on one dashboard.
What it costs
On Outfitter, ads are your ad spend plus 30%. Postcards are about 53¢ delivered per address. Google posts and review requests are free. Your first $10 of Facebook ads is on us.
What it won’t do
- Spending on ads and postcards waits for your OK, and each mail drop is priced before it prints.
- You turn on only the engines you want.
- Leads are yours to keep, with no commission on the jobs you win.
An example
A landscaper’s virtual yard sign runs on Facebook all month. After a finished backyard, he texts a photo and one sentence, and it becomes a Google post. Then the homes around that job get a postcard.
