Outfitter Learn · Emma, your AI agent · Question
Is Emma a real person?
No. Emma is an AI agent, not a person, and she says so. On the phone, Front Desk says it’s an AI assistant in the greeting of every call. She has a name and a natural voice so she’s easy to deal with. She never pretends to be you.
Who it’s for: Contractors who want help on the phones without misleading a single customer.
What people hear when they talk to Emma
- A caller hears that she’s an AI assistant in the first lines of the greeting, on every call.
- If you cloned your voice, callers hear your voice say it’s your AI assistant, so nobody is misled about who’s talking.
- When she can’t answer something, she says so and passes it to you.
- When you want to take a call yourself, she hands it to you.
Why an AI has a name
Emma has a name, a voice and a job description on purpose. Customers and your crew get used to one assistant they know, instead of a nameless chatbot. That’s about being easy to deal with, not about hiding anything. She’s also not a chatbot in the usual sense. She does the work, from answering calls to updating your website.
What it won’t do
- She says she’s an AI on every call, whether or not your state requires it.
- She never pretends to be you, even in your cloned voice.
- Your voice is cloned only from a recording you make yourself, on our page, with a checkbox. Never an uploaded file.
- The real decisions stay with people: you confirm pre-scheduled times and you set the prices.
An example
At BuildFlow Basements, Emma designs and prices a basement with a homeowner in about five minutes. She says she’s an AI before any of it starts. Then people take over: a licensed local contractor visits the home, and someone from BuildFlow walks the homeowner through the numbers.
