Outfitter Learn · Front Desk · Question

What happens to my after-hours calls?

The short answer

Front Desk answers 24/7, so a 7 p.m. or Sunday call gets a real answer instead of voicemail. It tells the caller you’ll call back, takes the details, marks urgent calls urgent and texts and emails you the message. The caller has a next step, so they don’t dial the next name on the list.

Who it’s for: Contractors who stop answering at dinner, on weekends or on a fishing trip, but don't want to lose those calls.

What happens when someone calls after hours

  1. Your phone rings first. If you let it go, Front Desk picks up.

  2. It says it’s your AI assistant and takes the details the way you would.

  3. Urgent calls, like water in a basement after a storm, are marked urgent in the text you get.

  4. It can pre-schedule a time for you to confirm, and tells the caller you’ll be in touch.

  5. You decide whether to call back tonight or first thing tomorrow.

What it costs

Same as any call: 35¢ a minute from your tokens. There’s no after-hours surcharge.

What it won’t do

An example

At 7:05 p.m., a homeowner calls a basement contractor about water in the basement after a storm. Front Desk says the owner will call tomorrow, takes the details and texts him at 7:09, marked urgent. He finishes dinner, reads it, and decides it can wait until 7 a.m.
